Aurelio Ambrogio (Aurelius Ambrosius), better known as Saint Ambrose (Trier, uncertain 339-340 - Milan, 397) was a bishop and saint Roman writer, one of the most important figures in the Church of the fourth century. He is revered as a saint by all Christian churches that provide the cult of saints, in particular, the Catholic Church makes it one of the four greatest doctors of the Church, along with St. Jerome, St. Augustine and St. Gregory the Pope.

Also known as Ambrose of Trier, for the place of birth, or more commonly as Ambrose of Milan, which together with the city of St. Charles Borromeo and St. Galdino is patron, and of which he was bishop from 374 until his death, in which there is the basilica dedicated to him who holds the remains.
